Privacy policy

Floonova records your screen and camera, streams them live, and shares recordings as links. This page says what that involves for your data, in plain words.
Who we are
Floonova is made by Paul's Techno Crafts Private Limited ("we", "us"), a company registered in Hyderabad, India. This policy covers the Floonova desktop app for Mac and Windows, floonova.com, and share.floonova.com, where shared recordings and the phone camera page are shown. Questions go to support@floonova.com.
What we collect
- Your Google account basics, when you sign in: your name, email address, profile picture link and Google account ID. That is all we ask Google for. We never see your Google password, and we can't read your Gmail, Drive, contacts or anything else in your Google account.
- Recordings you choose to upload: the screen, camera, microphone and desktop sound you recorded, with the title, duration, thumbnail and any edits (trims, cuts and zooms). Recordings stay on your computer unless you upload them. Automatic upload is off until you switch it on.
- Share links you create: the link, how many times it has been viewed, and whether you allow downloads.
- Sign-in records: when you sign in and out, and when your session is renewed, so we can keep your account secure.
- Your plan and payments, if you buy Pro or Pro+: which plan you're on, how often it renews and when it ends, and each payment's amount, currency, tax and date. Paddle, who sells the plans, collects your payment details and billing address itself; we never see your full card number.
- Your email address, if you join the launch waitlist on floonova.com. See Launch waitlist below.
- Technical information: like any online service, our servers and hosting providers receive your IP address, browser or device details and the time of each request. We use these to run, secure and fix the service.
What stays on your device
- Recordings you don't upload never leave your computer.
- Live streams go straight from your computer to the platform you choose, such as YouTube or Twitch, using your stream key. Your stream key is kept, encrypted, on your computer. We don't receive your stream or your key.
- Phone camera: when you pair a phone, we create a pairing code that stops working after a few minutes. The video then goes directly between your phone and your computer, encrypted. When a direct connection isn't possible, it passes, still encrypted, through a relay server that can't see it. We don't record or store it.
- The app's log file stays on your computer. It only reaches us if you use Copy diagnostics and send it to us yourself.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- We don't show ads, and we don't track you across other websites. The Floonova app has no analytics at all. On floonova.com, see Website analytics and cookies.
- We don't use your recordings to train AI models, and we don't look at them unless you ask us to help with one.
Why we use it
To sign you in, store and play your uploaded recordings, turn them into one file that plays on phones, serve your share links, keep the service secure and working, send you emails about your account (your invitation, a welcome email, and notices such as an account deletion), and answer you when you contact us.
Where the law asks for a reason (a "legal basis"), ours are: providing the service you signed up for, under our terms with you; our legitimate interest in keeping Floonova secure and working, keeping bots off our sign-up forms, and counting visits to our website without identifying anyone; keeping the payment records that tax and accounting law require; and your consent, where we ask for it — the waitlist and Google Analytics, for example — which you can withdraw at any time.
Who helps us run Floonova
- Google handles sign-in, keeps the launch waitlist in Google Workspace, and — only if you allow it — measures visits to floonova.com with Google Analytics.
- Render runs our servers and database, in the United States.
- Cloudflare stores uploaded recordings privately, delivers our websites and installers, counts visits to floonova.com without cookies, and checks that waitlist sign-ups come from people, not bots.
- Paddle sells our paid plans as merchant of record: it takes payments, handles tax, and sends receipts. Paddle's privacy notice covers the payment details you give it.
- Resend sends our emails — your invitation, the welcome email and account notices — to your email address, in the United States.
- A network relay service carries phone camera video, encrypted, when a direct connection isn't possible.
They process data only to provide their service to us. Your data may therefore be stored or processed outside India and outside your own country, including in the United States. Their data processing terms include the safeguards the law requires for that, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. If you stream to YouTube, Twitch or another platform, that platform's own privacy policy covers what you send it.
Launch waitlist and "Count me in"
If you join the waitlist on floonova.com, we keep your email address, when you joined and which page you joined from. We use it only to tell you when Floonova launches. It is kept in a Google Workspace spreadsheet that only we can open, separate from Floonova's accounts and recordings, and we never sell or share it. To be taken off the list, email support@floonova.com and we'll delete your address.
"Count me in" asks for nothing: we keep only when it was clicked and on which page, to count how many people are interested. Your browser remembers that you clicked, so the page can say thanks next time.
To keep bots out of both, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person is signing up, using technical signals from your browser for that check only. It runs when you sign up or click "Count me in", not when you just visit.
Website analytics and cookies
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits to floonova.com without cookies and without identifying you: which pages are viewed, which website sent you, and your country and type of device, as totals.
- Google Analytics runs only if you choose "Allow" when floonova.com asks. It sets cookies (named _ga and starting _ga_) that last up to two years, so we can see which pages help people find Floonova. We use it only to measure, never for advertising, and we don't allow Google to use it for ads.
- If you choose "No thanks", Google Analytics doesn't load and sets no cookies. Change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; choosing "No thanks" also removes the cookies it set.
- The Floonova app itself uses no analytics and no cookies of this kind.
Share links
Anyone with a share link can watch that recording and see its title, date, length and view count, without signing in. If you allow downloads, they can also download it. You can stop sharing at any time, and the link stops working.
How long we keep it
- Uploaded recordings and share links are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
- Waitlist addresses are kept until you ask us to remove yours, or until we no longer need the list for the launch.
- Payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, up to 8 years, even after you delete your account — no longer linked to it.
- Expired sign-in sessions are deleted within an hour, pairing codes a week after they expire, and session-renewal records after 90 days.
- Deleting your account (in the app: Delete account…) permanently deletes your uploaded recordings, share links, account details and sign-in history. If you have a paid plan, cancel it first, in the app under Plan, then Manage subscription, so you aren't charged again. Copies in our database backups are overwritten within a short period after that.
Your choices and rights
You can see and download your recordings in the app, stop sharing any of them, delete them, or delete your whole account yourself at any time. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live; in India, that is the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
Everything between the app, our websites and our servers travels encrypted. Uploaded recordings are stored privately, and only reachable through links that expire. On your computer, your sign-in is kept in the system's secure storage, the macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager.
Children
Floonova isn't meant for children. If you are under 18, use it only with your parent's or guardian's permission.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change matters to how your data is used, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
Contact and grievance officer
For any question or complaint about your data, write to our grievance officer, Suchit Paul, at support@floonova.com, or by post to Paul's Techno Crafts Private Limited, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. We'll acknowledge your message within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days.
